Walther LGV-DST | Relevance | 1 year ago | Garvin2 | Walther
Walther LGV-DST. With thanks to Mark for these pics, who says: "A rare one this, more so than a LG55 DST as these rifles were banned from competition use, just as Walther made the DST trigger unit available for the LGV. Stamped into the breech just above the serial number and next to the 'F' in a pentagon are a couple of what looks like shields one of which has '84' in it. Then there is '.705.' next to that. The breech unit is not drilled for fitting open sights. The standard rear diopter is fitted, although the front unit is fitted with a post foresight... Standard match stock with really nice butt pad and a wood plug just behind the end cap that was fitted to strengthen the pistol grip." Note that the breech block is not drilled for and open rear sight.

Warrior (1st version) | Relevance | 1 year ago | Garvin | Accles & Shelvoke
Warrior (1st version) With thanks to John G for this pic and text: "Warrior, First version: This relatively rare version can be distinguished from the later version by (a) the chamfered end to the cocking lever , (b) the semicircular trigger guard, (c) the absence of a serial number, (d) the lettering, which among other things, says “The Warrior. Made in England”, rather than 'The Warrior. Made by Accles and Shelvoke' as on the second version. This first version was made between 1930 and 1933."

Matchless 2nd model | Relevance | 1 year ago | Garvin | Adams & Westlake Co.
Matchless 2nd model With thanks to Beth of Amoskeag Auctions, Inc. for permission to post this pic. The original auction blurb said: "This is .180 cal spring piston top lever gravity feed air gun with a cast iron frame which retains 50% of original black paint while the remainder has turned a pleasing brown patina. The seamless barrel has 50% of original nickel finish remaining the balance is a soft brass finish. The top cocking lever with false hammer is mostly brown patina with some original black paint remaining in protected areas. The rear sight is missing from its dovetail on the barrel. The wood stock contains the gravity feed tube and the cocking handle. The finish is worn and has some handling nicks but still rates very good. The left side of the stock is stamped in a circle "MADE BY ADAMS & WESTLAKE CO./ CHICAGO". A very nice example of a late 19th century air rifle." Walther LG-54MG (ball repeater) | Relevance | 1 year ago | Garvin2 | Walther
Walther LG-54MG (ball repeater). This is an exceptionally rare 4.4mm lead ball repeater, otherwise very similar to the LG51Z. It will also fire 4.5mm pellets single shot, providing a blank cover converter is used in place of the small, round bayonet-fitting magazine that holds the balls . The first rifle shown here, in fine condition, lacks the magazine but is complete with the single shot converter. The second rifle is complete with the magazine, which has a thick glass window for viewing the number of balls remaining. (With thanks to a collector friend for allowing me to photograph this rifle). Here is the rifle advertised in the 1954 brochure of the German distributor, Akah: The rifle complete with magazine. With thanks to a collector friend for letting me take these pics:

Walther LG-51ZD-M-DST. With thanks to Mark D for these pics. It has an unusual one-piece trigger unit - quite possibly the forerunner of the unit used subsequently by Walther on a number of models - which, as Frank K observes: "Looks like a combination of a LG51/52/53 sear housing and a LG55/LGV double trigger unit to me. Normally these units should be separate and not (like this one) a single unit". Frank's two pics are at the end.
