Brih - Polish military training air rifle.
After the war, all air rifles and air pistols were banned in Poland.
Several training air rifles were developed for the Polish army, as is often the case with military weapons, without any model specifications.
The model used was that of the patent holder, in this case ‘Bank Rzemiosła i Handlu’ (BRiH) or, translated, the Bank for Crafts and Trade.
The air rifles only have a consecutive serial number. I am only aware of 13 air rifles with numbers; most air rifles were destroyed!
These are the highest numbers I am aware of so far.
A 35
D 991
N 1669
During ongoing production, improvements were constantly made to the air rifles and simplifications to the production process.
Unfortunately, I am only aware of two patents from ‘BHiR’ so far, and these do not even correspond to the known air rifles.
Thanks to various Polish websites that unfortunately no longer exist!
Many thanks also to the many Polish air rifle collectors who published their knowledge there.
