Daystate Sportsman Mk2 (SSP) stripdown

The owner says:

Picked on of these up from one of my local gunshops, never heard of it before, it was in a bit of a state, as you can imagine it had been messed about during its life, the stock had been broken and badly repaired. Plus it took no effort to cock, first of all I dismissed the thought of buying it, I do all the airgun repairs for this particular shop, and that evening I thought, no, I am going to try to get this old girl up and running.

The following day, I went back to the shop and made the purchase, After I sorted all the repairs I set about stripping this beast og a gun, it actually was not too bad a job.
Everything was meticulously cleaned and inspected, I had no idea which seals to use as any information on these things is few and far between, but after careful measurement I got it all back together.

I cocked it a couple of times without success, one thing I had not done was strip the firing valve apart, there lie part of the problem, this valve is basically a simple knock of valve that you can find in most PCP's, however with one small difference, in order to retain the air from the first stroke there is a ball bearing on a spring which only allows air flow in one direction. so you basically pressurise this small volume more and more with each stroke, on this gun the ball was rusty so would not seat.

Upon replacing the ball reassemble again, this time i knew I was on the right track, one pump 6.5 ft/lb, 2 pumps 11.5 ft/lb, 3 pumps 14.75 ft/lb, oops on the der side of the action there is a small cylindrical tube that contains a pressure relief valve, after some adjustments the valve now opens at 11.7 ft/lb i was a happy bunny.
The stock was also reinforced with a 10mm steel bar aradited in position, I dont think the stock will break again.
