PP Target Pistol.
With thanks to John G for the pics of this fabulous pistol. Note the position of the rear sight - on the barrel breach like in the Knaak of Berlin advertisement lower down in this thread, rather than to the rear of the cylinder as on all but one other known examples.
The following EG PP was in the sale of the collection of Myron Kasok on December 14th, 2003, near Chicago, by the Rock Island Auction Co.
This pair of powder-burning pistols have similar scalloped grips, a popular c.19th Century format.

PP Target Pistol (with unusual rear sight)

He says the calibre is 0.185 inches, and the gun has serial number 553.
Is this rear sight an original EG innovation, perhaps a special order, or a later addition?
As well as the rear sight, note the cross hatched barrel catch and extra-ornate trigger guard.
An expert in EG airguns says "perhaps made by EG to order, or adapted by a skilled gunsmith, but either way probably of the period... I wonder if this gun was one of a short series of upgraded models intended for gallery use only?".
