Update 2019:
I have just re-read this article and think I should add a quick update following Volker's research.
Among the interesting background on the company that he gave - including the revelation that the founder and boss had a heart attack in 1957, probably explaining why Falke went bankrupt the following year - was that he befriended the British military chief (governor?) of the region in which Bennigsen was located.
This might explain why the factory appeared to concentrate on selling into English-speaking countries. It would have had the additional incentive of escaping fierce competition in the German airgun space presented by Diana, Walther, BSF etc.
