1965 under lever

thanks for allowing me to join your group.

When I was 9yo in 1965 I went to a small local gun shop with my (now passed) dad to buy an ir rifle. We eventually purchased a BSA Meteor but the shop's owner also showed us an underlever rifle which I still remember to this day. It was slightly smaller that the Meteor, it was an underlever, and when cocked a metal cube about 10mm in size popped up. It had a hole in it to accept a .22 pellet after which it could be pushed back down for firing. That's all I remember, it was 57 years ago. Does anybody here have any idea what the model could have been.

@piroflip

That would be a BSA Merlin.
