Fwb300s

Just following on from my recent thread where I mentioned my Fwb.  Well here she is, all  reblued, resealed and stock refinished with a few added extras.  Couldn't get them on the 300s page so put it here instead........dom

well it turned out well and i'm assuming that it has a beech stock, being you left it blonde 

hot blue or cold blue 

and it looks as if you blued the compression cylinder, i think i would have left in the white

but a hell of a job, it was a ugly duckling

Yes it is a beech 'standard' stock and as beech is notorious for not taking a dye (most beech stocks are sprayed with a coloured lacquer to overcome this problem) I left it blonde.  It's had about 15 coats of Danish oil to keep it a natural honey colour, which I think goes well as a contrast to the all black action.  Polished and hot blued by a chap on the Airgunforum called Paul Chell and it is silky black.

I did um and arh about blacking the comp tube but just fancied the all black look to make the whole thing more uniform, just need now to reblack the foresight and then start shooting..............dom

Here is my Dads old FWB 300S i stripped it down and fitted 2 new springs and seals, this is a mint gun still has all factory accessories from new not a mark on the original stock.

Lovely old rifle. Looks like your dad used it well but really looked after it.

Unusual to see the springs broken - The FWB originals are very high quality steel.
