Haenal 27?

Hi, I've just been reading on your site about the mysterious Haenal Mod 27 and the possibility of a relic that might be the mysterious gun. I have noted something that you might have over looked, on the catalogue image of the 27 the cocking release button is on the left hand side, where as on all the early models and the model 28s this button is on the right hand side.

I have an early boxed "28" with no serial number and no retainer cocking screw

Interesting, thank you. I'll pass on your observation to Bruce Jr, probably the world's top Haenel pistol expert.

As a note of caution, though, I would just say that catalogue illustrations are sometimes not accurate representations of the guns themselves. I've seen both prewar BSA and postwar Walther pictures that are quite different from all known guns.

@garvin Your probably right, as one is yet to surface. My personal opinion is the early unmarked model is probably the 27 and after the alterations it would have been marked as the 28 as it corresponded with the year.

Please post a picture of the lettering on your "28"!

A picture of the right side of the pistol along with the markings on the top of the receiver would be beneficial and a picture of the box top would also be appreciated.  Examples without serial numbers exist for the Haenel Air Pistol, Haenel MOD 28 and the Haenel Luft Pistole.
