Girandoni-type repeater

With thanks to Eberhard.

Pics copyright Hermann Historica.

Auction blurb:

Octagonal barrel with a smooth bore in 11 mm calibre. Inserted brass and iron sights. Cock and lock plate made of iron, action box and lock plate made of brass. Lateral loading tube for approx. 20 round balls with loading lever. Walnut stock with light floral engraving. Screwed iron plunger with leather cover (supplemented?). Smooth brass fittings. Inserted wooden ramrod, with iron tip. The iron surfaces partly pitted, reworked. Length 104.5cm.
Rare, probably privately owned weapon, with strong similarities to the Austrian military model M 1779.
