Japanese and German copies of the prewar BSAs competed to take a share of the worldwide demand for these extraordinary air rifles.

See also examples of the Haenel underlevers (ie. underlever mods IV and VI) and the Diana underlevers (ie. mods 42 and 48) elsewhere in this gallery.

The relatively common buttstock underlevers, the export versions of the Haenel VI and Diana 48 in particular, were direct copies of the BSA Standards, and because they were imported to the UK (apparently both badged and unbadged) in the 1920s and '30s, they competed directly with the BSAs for sales.

There were also numerous Japanese copies of the prewar break-barrel BSA 'Breakdown' model, some apparently made after WW2. See pics below and in the following links.
