Pope Air Pistols
Pope Air Pistol - Nickelled (boxed with accessories).
With thanks to John A for this pic.
Note the rare wrench for unscrewing the front plug combined with dart claw - an original Pope accessory, as is the cleaning rod.
John says of this example and the black Japanned one also pictured in this gallery:
"Both pistols have their original plate springs forming top safety sears that intercept the breech of the barrel when drawn forward for loading to stop it flying rearwardly to trap the loader's fingers and flat ribbon mainsprings."
Pope Air Pistol - Cased, David Swan Collection.
