BSA VS2000 sidelever air pistol prototype
John Griffiths, author of the Encyclopedia of Spring Air Pistols, said:
The [VS2000] rifle was invented by Roy Hutchinson of the London Scottish Rifle Company, and was taken up by BSA as a contender for commercialisation. It was announced to the public by BSA in 1985 as the VS2000 air rifle, but only a few prototypes were made before the decision was taken not to proceed any further. The repeater mechanism was patented by Hutchinson in British Patent 2,152,646 (1985).
The pistol version was made by Hutchinson out of interest, and as far I know, only the one prototype was made. Not much use as a serious target pistol I suppose, but interesting as a collectible, especially as it is the only springer pistol with an indexible repeater magazine.
