This apparently unassembled rifle sold on Ebay in the US for US $1,525.00 (Approx £1,177.70).

Benjamin Model-342 Silver Arrow 

Steven on the American Vintage Airguns forum added:

An example of a nickel "SILVER ARROW" was on the inventory list created by Charlie Pruefer when he inventoried and appraised Ray Katt's personal airgun collection back in 2000. The gun's description as written by Charlie is below:

"Benjamin .177, 347 nickel finish -- experimental gun marked "SILVER ARROW" (for singapore), NEW $100

At least two of these seem to have remained in the US, based on the way you describe the gun you owned compared to the original post.
