'Roland Spezial' target and rifle set

With thanks to Eberhard for the heads up.

The eGun.de seller said the following:

From my private collection I am selling a Roland "special" air rifle in a set with the corresponding target. These sets used to be sold [to] pubs to entertain patrons.

The rifle is similar... to e.g. the Haenel Model III D.R.P., but with an automatic [breach] locking bolt. It is in the large 5.5mm caliber with a rifled barrel!

The target made of cast metal, also called "armoured target", has mirror-inverted numbers in the rings, which are intended to imprint themselves on the remains of the projectile on impact and can be seen in the lead after lifting it off using the attached tool. The centre of the target is a hole, behind it a bell, so that the direct hit is indicated acoustically.

The rifle and the target have been lovingly restored with enormous effort - they probably look nicer now than they did when they were delivered.

The rifle's bluing is perfectly shiny, the stock has been repaired and now has a fine finish. Mechanics have been fully serviced and are in perfect working order.

The target was completely dismantled, derusted at great expense, treated with rust protection, decorated with sophisticated colors and finally sealed in several layers. Worn out small parts were replaced by high-quality counterparts. I think the result is impressive.

In the original matching set, the "Rolands" are extremely rare. After the restoration, this set is a true collector's item for lovers of old airguns and curiosities. Don't miss it - something like this will probably never happen again!
