Sidelever spring bugelspanner type (possibly built for military use)
With thanks to Thoralf for these pics. He says:
"Unfortunately no manufacturer on this airgun. Under the rear sight stamped a "5" and all parts are marked with 5 dots. Calibre is 6mm.
"The brass trigger guard has the style of the period shortly before 1800 but it would not be that old. I can imagine that it was built maybe around 1850 as a military training rifle because it is stamped 'III Comp' (the German word 'Kompanie' was often spelled with a 'C' in the 19th century), because of the special rearsight and, last but not least, its weight and size correspond to a firearm of this period. It's huge and very heavy."
