The original auction blurb said: "This .22 cal. rifle utilizes a rather unique fixed two piece lever along the forward right side for cocking and the barrel tilts downward or twists loose for loading. The barrel insert, trigger guard and buttplate are made of brass, all other metal parts are made of iron. The metal surfaces bear a brown gray patina with areas of light pitting and the brass is lightly tarnished. The one piece wood stock rates about very good with light handling marks and a couple small metal pins. The barrel seems to fit a bit loose but all parts appear present and intact. Barrel has a fading but still legible maker mark at front of air cylinder. An interesting New England manufactured Civil War era airgun."
