After JohnG kindly supplied me with a tell 2 pistol on this forum after i put up a wanted ad i decided it deserved a box to sit in,knowing an original box would be virtually impossible to get it decided id make one for it,i didnt really want to do a repo boxes for it so decided to put it in a wooden box,so a trip to ebay and I managed to find a couple of very nice but cheap vintage EX cigar boxes in a suitable size,I couldn't decide which one I liked so ordered both which came to under £20 for the pair, they both turned up today.
Im awaiting some baise fabric and a little plaque to go ontop of the box and want to source a pellet tin/box of them correct era (any suggestions welcome) so I can line out the box
Anyway this is what i have at the moment,I've decided on the box on the left,I'll update again with progress pics
Great fun boxing your prize guns, and I am looking forward to seeing your end result. The hardest part is deciding what type of interior fitting to go for - the continental style, as shown here on the left, or the English style as on the right. I think either could be appropriate for the Tell 2, but you may have a preference for one over the other.
(Incidentally, the box on the right, which is not mine, has the wrong trade label. W. Richards of Liverpool is a completely different gunsmith to Westley Richards, and has no connection with them.)
Cheers danny that's some great work
Not much progress as awaiting stuff to arrive,I've decided to do an mdf panel cut out for the pistol and a small tin of pellets then flock it.
These arrived today tho, just need to decide which one to use as ordered a couple in different fonts to try.
