Unknown hammer-cocking air pistol

John Griffiths, author of the Encyclopedia of Spring Air Pistols, said of this pistol:
What a great pistol! I think it could just possibly be an original, and would then have the distinction of being only the third known spring air pistol to be cocked by a hammer, the other two being the early 1800's Kuchenreuter and the Healthways Western Plainsman. It resembles the former in the way the dart or pellet is inserted, in that the barrel slides forward to expose the breech.
