I think this is the sight protector that BSA would have sold in the 1920s and '30s - unless yours was made earlier?
Genuine BSA ones had the 'piled arms' logo stamped into them:
Garvin, thank you for your reply, mine is very similar too this ,but its all one piece ,the top isn't pointed like the photo its a figure of 8 shape, but there are no stamps or marking on it, ive managed too put 2 photos into the vag album, but cant find a way too transfer them too this thread.!!
Thank you. I don't know the maker of that sight protector but it looks pretty age appropriate! Maybe someone else can identify it?
and for moving the pics over
I didn't actually do that! Must have been Citizen K. 🙂
today at the club we met up with husband and wife whos relative had the bsa standard 2 from new and used it in competitions. they have donated the bisley cup he won too our club too be given/won by new or young members each year . (nice gesture ).Thomas Robbins from bideford /devon is the gent who bought and owned the bsa from new and it has been in the family ever since, until I bought it.he was awarded the queen Victoria medal for long service ,and was an expert marksman. the picture is of him with his trophies and one of his firearms. the main pic is of our club committee and Thomas Robbins relatives (today). that leaves me with a very nice bsa standard 2 which has history that is traceable . im very honoured too be able too own this rifle
I have downloaded some photos too go with this but I cant move them onto the thread ,, anyone help please? thank you.
It might be best if you email me the pics!

The VAG photo host is pretty simple. When pics are uploaded you're presented with a list of links.
Select 'direct links' from the drop down menu, click copy in the box and it goes yellow briefly to show it's copied, then paste inside your post. Job done.
