How does BSA Standard 177 match modern requirements for muzzle velocity?

Hi,

I have a recently fully reconditioned BSA 177 (Serial No 6009) which I would like to shoot at a local Air Gun Club. One of the members has suggested it "MIGHT" be illegal and over powered!

As it is 116 years old I am doubtful but it does concern me that some officious little twit could cause me a problem!

Any information most welcome.

Regards

David.

David it's very unlikely if it's 116 years old. I would shoot at least 50 pellets through it first and have it chronoed before I did anything to it.
