Webley Mk2 Target Air Pistol
Webley Mk2 Target Air Pistol - Late production with screw in breech plug.

According to the book Webley Air Pistols, by Gordon Bruce, from around S/N 38500 onward, the rear of the Mark II now utilized a screw in plug at the rear of the cylinder, similar to that used on the pre-war Mark I pistols. This practice continued until cessation of production of the Mark II Target, at just beyond S/N 39000.
The keeper screw for the Mark II Target breech plug was centered in the frame, rather than just right of center, as done on the Mark I pistols.
The grip area of the frame on this late production gun (S/N 389xx) is narrower than preceeding versions of the Mark II Target that I have examined.
For comparison, S/N 344xx measures 1.460" at the top of the grip, where S/N 389xx measures 1.398", thus the late gun frame is 0.062" narrower at this point. At the lower point of the grip frame, S/N 344xx measures 1.638", while S/N 389xx measures 1.556", making the late gun 0.082" narrower at this point.
