Westley Richards Concentric Model strip
With thanks to Steve for these extraordinary pics.
He said: "Carefully stripped, cleaned and re greased. Small part of broken spring removed and additional leather damper fitted to soften blow of piston striking rear of gun body.
Would love to see pictures of original leather seal fixing. Mine has be redone at some point in the past and the two seal retaining screws protrude and I did not like the way these were a metal on metal strike point for such an old gun.
Also needed to fabricate a replacement rear seal. Now working nicely. Not had chance to Chrony."
WR Concentric model: believed original piston seal arrangement. Thanks to John G for these pics.
Steve added: "Looks like mine has had a replacement leather seal at some point and this has not had cutouts for the screw heads, made worse by a drilled steel plate being used as a "washer" across the top of the leather. Hence the screw head currently protrude and strike the body of the gun.
I cut a small leather piece to place inside to protect and soften the impact. First attempt I forgot the need for two air holes 🙂
Replacing leather seal and screws arrangement in a more original way is future project."
