I'm having a very hard time identifying this rifle.

It looks like a model 23 in that it is definitely not a 22 because it doesn't have a tinplate barrel shroud. Nor does it look like the catalogue illustrations of the slightly larger model 25, unless it's a very early one, made before they went into mass production.

It differs from this rifle, (presumed to be a model 25), in several key respects:

It certainly has hallmarks of being mid-to-late-1920s in terms of the Diana-Luft-Gewehr and early-type Diana goddess stamps, but the big problem is that the model 23 does not appear anywhere in the Diana catalogue record until the mid-1930s.
